Ayer me correspondía acudir a la odontóloga para realizar el control de la ortodoncia por este mes, aunque en realidad, no había estado demasiado al tanto de la fecha como para saber que ya se habían cumplido los veinte (20) días respectivos que marcan cuándo se debería regresar a que hagan el reajuste, simplemente los últimos dos días había notado que los dos dientes de adelante habían comenzado a separarse, lo cual me hizo entrar en un estado de miedo, y le escribí a la odontóloga. Podría parecer exagerado preocuparse ante la presencia de una apertura del grosor de una uña pero considerando cómo estaban de separados esos dientes anteriormente, creo que es comprensible que no me sienta con seguridad al ver que se están separando de nuevo sin importar qué tanto.

Yesterday I was due to go to the dentist for my orthodontic check-up for this month, although in reality, I had not been too aware of the date to know that the respective twenty (20) days that mark when one should return to have the readjustment done had already expired, simply the last two days I had noticed that the two front teeth had begun to separate, which made me enter into a state of fear, and I wrote to the dentist. It might seem like overkill to worry about the presence of an opening the thickness of a fingernail, but considering how far apart those teeth were previously, I think it's understandable that I don't feel confident that they are separating again no matter how far apart.
Como siempre, llego demasiado temprano para la cita y como no es extraño que algún paciente falte pues terminan haciéndome pasar de una vez luego de llegar, lo cual resulta a mi favor, aunque la intención no es esa, sino estar temprano y así evitar la posibilidad de llegar tarde, ya que lo considero una falta de respeto para con la persona con la que se estableció un horario en específico… detesto que jueguen con mi tiempo, por lo que trato de no jugar con el de los demás mientras sea posible. Ahora, de igual manera tengo en cuenta cuestiones que se escapan de mi control pero que debo advertir si quiero evitar tener inconvenientes, y es que usualmente siempre acudimos al consultorio en el carro, pero como este está presentado una falla por la cual no debería salir, debemos usar el transporte público, con el que no se puede contar.
As always, I arrive too early for the appointment and as it is not unusual for a patient to be absent, they end up making me come in at once after arriving, which is in my favor, although the intention is not that, but to be early and thus avoid the possibility of being late, as I consider it a lack of respect for the person with whom a specific schedule was established ... I hate to play with my time, so I try not to play with the time of others as long as possible. Now, I also take into account issues that are beyond my control but that I must warn if I want to avoid inconveniences, and is that we usually always go to the office in the car, but as this is presented a failure for which should not leave, we must use public transport, which cannot be counted on.
En la consulta me dieron una mala noticia, aquella que nadie que tenga ortodoncia quiere escuchar porque supone sin lugar a dudas un golpe directo a nuestra economía. De lo peor que puede pasar cuando se tiene ortodoncia hasta ahora ha sido que te informen que se te ha caído alguno de los brackets, porque eso significa que se deberá pagar un monto adicional a lo que se paga normalmente para el reajuste de los mismos. Para mi mala fortuna, no sólo debí pagar por uno, del que ya tenía dudas, pues se notaba que estaba algo flojo antes de asistir a la consulta, sino dos, porque también se había caído el que estaba al lado de este, aparentemente en un atentado contra mí misma que cometí sin haberme dado cuenta pero que fue con suficiente fuerza como para todos estos destrozos que me dolieron a nivel económico y moral.
At the consultation I was given some bad news, news that no one who has orthodontics wants to hear because it is undoubtedly a direct blow to our economy. One of the worst things that can happen when you have orthodontics up to now has been to be informed that one of the brackets has fallen off, because that means that you will have to pay an additional amount to what you normally pay for the readjustment of the brackets. To my misfortune, not only did I have to pay for one, which I already had doubts about, as I could tell it was a little loose before going to the consultation, but two, because the one next to it had also fallen off, apparently in an attempt against myself that I committed without realizing it, but with enough force to cause all this damage that hurt me both financially and morally.
Creo que ahora me estoy dando cuenta por fin lo costoso que se puede convertir este proceso de ortodoncia, esto, y que me informaron del precio que se maneja hasta los momentos de los retenedores que voy a tener que usar una vez sean terminados los trabajos que se están llevando a cabo. En la parte superior será necesario usar retenedor fijo por las circunstancias alrededor de mi frenilla y esa operación por la que pasé para removerlo, de esta manera no se corre el riesgo de que se separen otra vez siempre que me cuide el retenedor, claro está. Para la parte inferior no es necesario que sea fijo, puedo usar uno removible aunque tendré que usarlo por alrededor de dos años, este vendría primero que el superior siempre que es necesario quitar la ortodoncia abajo de manera que se pueda seguir trabajando en la parte superior.
I think now I am finally realizing how expensive this orthodontic process can become, this, and that I was informed of the price that is handled so far of the retainers that I will have to use once the work that is being carried out is finished. In the upper part it will be necessary to use a fixed retainer because of the circumstances around my braces and the operation I went through to remove them, this way there is no risk of them separating again as long as I take care of the retainer, of course. For the lower part it does not need to be fixed, I can use a removable one although I will have to wear it for about two years, this would come first than the upper one whenever it is necessary to remove the orthodontics below so that work can continue on the upper part.
