Macro Photography | Random Shots

Random macro photography, it's a bighead hoverfly spotted along in our place, the garden capital in town, resting in the leaf, he does not move any muscle. The body is very skinny and shiny and the big head literally its an eye yellowish with a brown dot pattern.

Nearby there is a tortoise beetle orange color with black dot spots walking in the green leaf, he moves slowly so time to catch and shot, the leaf has a hole I think he eats it bit by bit.

As always here are my own definition, explanation, and tips from my experiences while capturing these bugs, based on my experience.

Tips: Always ready when you see one, get your gear and shoot it, do it slowly because the hard movement can alert their senses, know your gear, know the distance, never too far away or too close. You can shoot multiple rapid shots if you have plenty of space for storage.

KISS

Keep It Super Simple

KEEP IT SUPER SIMPLE, sometimes i shoot just a simple single flower, I like some minimalist shots also.

TIPS: Shooting this small creature needs patience, a lot because if they see you sense you coming they will run or fly away, but the patient is a virtue, you can make it by first trying and a lot of practice.

Early wasp catches early worm, this is the hard part, to shot while in the air flying and hovering in the flower and leaves. More tips are below
As always you need a steady hand, you know macro lenses are sensitive to movement, small movement can make a picture blur unless you have a tripod. but you can improvise you can lean to a tree or something steady.

You can use also a tripod if you find some space for it, but it might scare them while you're on positioning it, have a great day. Thanks and Stay Safe.

KEEP SHOOTING

I am always fascinated with macro photography. My hands are very shaky so I would be needing a tripod. The lens is nice too, I might look for one on Shopee or Lazada. 😃
