On Handling Sexual Pressure

One of the testimonies I won't stop telling about my relationship is how God helped us through our 4 year courtship without sex. I keep recounting this to help people know that they can indeed live in sexual purity whether in a relationship or not.

During our courtship days, when I told people that my husband and I had not had sex, many doubted, many said it was a lie, many mocked us, many were shocked.

How could I have blamed them when we live in a world where the movies tell us that it's okay to have sex while dating? You watch a movie and in one scene strangers meet for the first time, the next scene they're in bed without even knowing each other's names.

A guy asks a lady out and when she says yes, the very next action is to plant a kiss and the celebration leads them to the bedroom.

How would I blame them when the songs that dominate our speakers are the ones where a guy is saying he can't wait to have his girl in his bed, how that her curves are either making him run mad, loose control or lack concentration.

So the impossibility of growing a nursery by the bank of a river without being washed by the waves or the tide is what makes people ask us how we did it.

There's really no mystery behind it and that's what I'm here to talk about. So the question is what are the factors that sponsor sexual pressure?

  1. TRENDS
I've spoken a lot about trends in my last two posts. That was a deliberate builder to this topic. If you've not read them, hurry and do that now! Now you understand that keeping yourself sexually pure is the new trend.

Now you should be surprised when people express surprise that you're still a virgin at your age, or that you have chosen to keep yourself till your wedding night. Now you understand that no sex before marriage is not weird, it is the new trend.

It's important to have this understanding because knowing that you're moving with the latest trend has a way of adding to your confidence. So if you're looking for what everyone is doing as the latest trend, you just found it💃💃💃

  1. PEERS
This subject is like the oga pata pata of them all (in that guy's voice, 😂😂😂if you know you know). I'll just speak about it on the surface to be continued in the next post.

We've heard times without number how that the people you have around you matter and that the personalities of people you call your friends can define your own personality.

Have you ever wondered why when random people say certain things about you it doesn't get to you as much as when it is said by very close people? It's an indication of the fact that those close to you have your ears and your heart while those outside have whatever you choose to give them.

I'll end by saying there are three categories of friends you should have, the outer court friends, the inner court friends and the holy of holies friends.
