A few days ago, I was watching a football match in which my two younger brothers were part of and I realized that football has been a family sport.
I remember 'Papa' telling us how a Reverend Father sponsored him in school because he was active in sports, especially football.
Our last born is an incredible defender. My immediate younger brother too; although he hasn't been actively playing for a while now, he is very much on form in the game.
My elder brothers and sisters? They all have a history with football too.
Myself? I used to do a little here and there, although not as much as they did or are still doing.
Talking about football, the high point of every game is when a goal is scored.
It doesn't matter how good a team is, if they aren't scoring goals, they are of no good.
The first question you'll hear or even ask after a football match is, "what are the scores?" In simple English, how many goals?
Goals determine the winning team, not dribbling. Whether it was Ronaldo or Kante or Lukaku that did the hat trick, the team that scored the highest number of goals is the winner. Case closed.
Yes, that brings me to something I want us to examine strategically. And that is, 'Goals'.
You may not be a footballer or even love the game, but life will always require that you score goals.
It's a new year, a very great one at that.
We have fasted, prayed, made declarations and believed declarations, now it's time to go to the drawing board.
What are your plans for 2022?
Do you know how to effectively write and strategize or are you making wishes?
Does your new year goal align with your purpose or are you following trends?
How do you handle offside? (Almost there, but not).
